Evidence-Based Support for Every Voice
Voice Therapy
Voice therapy is a specialized, evidence-based form of speech therapy that targets how the voice is produced and coordinated. It can help reduce vocal strain, improve efficiency, and restore vocal function for people experiencing injury, fatigue, or change in voice quality.
I work with people experiencing:
Vocal fold nodules, cysts, or polyps
Muscle tension dysphonia or chronic laryngeal tension
Vocal fold paralysis, paresis, or weakness
Gender-affirming voice goals
Most clients begin therapy following an evaluation by an otolaryngologist (ENT) and laryngoscopy or stroboscopy. Voice therapy is offered virtually to residents of Texas, New York, and California.
Voice therapy can help you: regain reliable vocal control, reduce effort and fatigue, and rebuild confidence in how your voice feels and performs.
Singing Voice Lessons
Singing voice lessons integrate principles of vocal pedagogy and voice science to support singers in achieving efficient, expressive, and sustainable voice production. Each session blends technical training and artistic application, customized to your voice goals and current condition.
Lessons are ideal for:
Singers rebuilding after vocal injury or illness
Performers managing vocal fatigue or range changes
Artists preparing for auditions, tours, or extended performances
Anyone exploring their voice for artistry or personal growth
Lessons are available virtually for clients worldwide and grounded in evidence-based, functional voice training approaches.
Singing voice lessons can help you: strengthen coordination, rebuild vocal balance, improve endurance, and align technique with expressive goals.

Voice therapy is often covered by insurance, but coverage varies by plan and provider.
Goodwin Voice & Speech is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

A referral is not always required, but a laryngeal examination (an exam of the vocal folds) is necessary before beginning therapy. This exam provides essential diagnostic information, ensures treatment is appropriate, and supports collaboration among your care team.
If you haven’t yet seen an ENT or laryngologist, I can help you connect with a professional who specialize in voice.
