Singing Voice Training

Singing Voice Training Built on Science and Artistry

For singers who want to understand their instrument as deeply as they use it.

Your singing voice is not separate from the rest of you. How you breathe, how you hold tension, how you have trained, what genres you have lived in: all of it shapes what comes out when you sing. My approach to singing voice training starts from that understanding.

I work with singers across genres (classical, musical theater, pop, R&B, gospel, and everything in between) helping them build technical skill, stamina, and flexibility. Whether you are working through a vocal injury recovery, adjusting to a new genre or repertoire, or simply want to sing with more ease and confidence, these sessions meet you where you are.

As a speech-language pathologist, musician, and performer, I bring a perspective that most voice teachers cannot. I understand the anatomy and physiology of the voice at a clinical level, and I understand what it feels like to stand on a stage and need your voice to deliver. That combination shapes everything I do in these sessions.

What We Work On

Sessions are fully individualized, but common areas of focus include:

  • Building and balancing registration across your range
  • Breath management and support strategies
  • Reducing tension patterns that limit freedom and endurance
  • Navigating genre transitions (classical to contemporary, musical theater to pop)
  • Recovering vocal confidence after injury, surgery, or illness
  • Building stamina for demanding rehearsal and performance schedules
  • Warm-up and cool-down routines tailored to your voice and repertoire

How It Works

We begin with an intake conversation about your singing history, your goals, and any current challenges. From there, sessions are practical and hands-on: we sing, we experiment, we troubleshoot. I use a combination of sensation-based cuing, acoustic feedback, and physiological explanation to help you understand not just what to do, but why it works.

If you are also working with a treating SLP or laryngologist for a voice condition, I coordinate with your care team to make sure we are aligned.
